SAM TUCKER

Sam Tucker, originally from Retford, England, first arrived in Gaspé in late 2013 for university. Captivated by the region’s beauty and the community, he decided to stay.

Sam Tucker’s journey is a testament to finding a place to truly belong, and in Gaspé, he and his family have found their paradise.

“I ended up loving Gaspé so much that I wanted to stay for longer. And 10 years later, I’m still here!

What do you love about Gaspésie?

“Gaspé is perfect for us, as we both grew up in small towns. It’s what we know. I grew up in the forest, and farmer’s fields. Alex grew up here in Gaspé, by the sea. Here in Douglas, we have both virutally on our doorstep. It’s so easy to get out, enjoy nature and the space. And the sense of community in Gaspé, and Douglastown means you never feel isolated from human contact, and all the benefits that community brings”.

  Why did you choose Gaspésie?

“We had been living in Montreal for the last 7 years. We had a daughter, Lennie, and wanted to return to Gaspé to start raise our family. For the wonder views and the family-oriented community. We love it here! “

Few words to describe Gaspésie :

“Summarizing his feelings about Gaspésie, Sam quotes:  “The rolling hills of the valley. The waves perpetually breaking. A feeling of peace. Family. Lennie calling out to the planes in the sky.”

His advice to anyone considering a move to the region is simple: “Hurry up and do it.”
