NATURE OF THE WORK
Under the supervision of the Director of Educational Services, the education consultant will be responsible for providing guidance and support with the implementation, development, and evaluation of appropriate instructional materials for educators at the elementary and secondary levels. The work of the consultant will focus upon the social science domain; in particular, the curation and dissemination of resources to support and enhance the study of our aboriginal populations in Quebec. The consultant will support the implementation of the Culture and Citizenship in Québec Program.

GENERAL FUNCTION & DUTIES:
• Support and ensure high quality and culturally relevant education in ESSB school communities, specifically with teachers of Social Studies
• Participate in the development of programs and pedagogical material that genuinely reflect abo-riginal culture and values
• Develop learning and evaluation situations as well as complementary materials for educators
• Help align classroom resources and materials with current programs of study (QEP)
• Lead training sessions / workshops for educators
• Collaborate with team members and partners on the development of materials, resources and projects
• Follow up on inventories of material used in Social Studies at all levels
• Support specific initiatives in this field that promote awareness for the contributions and cul-tural dimensions of our aboriginal population
• Represent the Eastern Shores School Board and Educational Services at various partnership ta-bles (local, regional and provincial)
• Work closely with internal and external partners to understand and address the particular needs of a diverse clientele, including those of our aboriginal school families
• Carry out related tasks at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialty, notably education.
Experience as a teacher
Computer skills including use of various platforms
Excellent Written and Verbal skills
Experience in aboriginal studies is an asset
Bilingualism is an asset
