A pivotal job in a dynamic and friendly environment! The Douglas Community Centre (DCC) is looking for an enthusiastic person with good interpersonal skills, management abilities, and a passion for the community to fill the role of Administrative, Logistics and Development Coordinator.

Located in the charming community of Douglastown, neighboring Barachois, the Saint-Jean River, beautiful beaches, and a breathtaking view of Parc Forillon, DCC has distinguished itself for over 25 years by the dynamism of its community. In addition to offering a diversified program of leisurely activities, the community centre provides a range of community services and supports a number of projects run by citizen committees (community gardens, Puddingstone trails, Dougtown Café, etc.). A place rich in Irish heritage, linguistic diversity and members and volunteers of all ages!

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage day to day operations of the community centre in alignment with the Board of Director’s priorities and annual work plan including but not limited to; human resources, material resources, and finances;

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's operations in relation to its mission and development objectives, and provide exceptional quality services to the community;

  • Collaborate with partners and other organizations at local, regional, and provincial levels to develop visibility for the Centre;

  • Participate in the Centre’s governance meetings and report the organization’s activities to the board of directors, funders, and members;

  • Maintain a rewarding and caring environment for employees, volunteers, and the Centre’s users;

  • Regularly update the community center's promotional tools (website, social media, etc.).

Requirements

Requirements


  • Training or relevant experience in management, business administration or regional or community development;

  • Proficiency with technology (Office Suite, Google environment, social media, etc.);

  • Excellent oral and written French or English, and good knowledge of the other language;

  • Experience in a community environment an asset; 

  • Knowledge of the challenges of remote regions and linguistic minorities an asset;

  • Knowledge of Quickbook accounting software an asset;

  • Valid driver's license an asset.
