Vivre en Gasp\u00e9sie and its partners encourage everyone to celebrate the day in their own way.<\/p>\r\n \u201cGaspesian Day has become a tradition, a way of showing our love for the region and our sense of belonging here,\u201d explains Mariline Lamy-Poirier, coordinator of the event. \u201cThis year, we want everyone who loves Gasp\u00e9sie to be able to celebrate the day in their own way. Gaspesian Day isn’t confined to the region’s borders: if you hold Gasp\u00e9sie close to your heart, you can celebrate with us! Whether you live in Gasp\u00e9sie or elsewhere, we want everyone to feel invited to celebrate this important day.\u201d<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n A region pulling together<\/strong><\/p>\r\n The organising committee set up last year continues to support Vivre en Gasp\u00e9sie for this 18th edition. Made up of 12 partners from different sectors, the committee helps to rally the public.<\/p>\r\n \u201cOnce again this year, we’ve put together a variety of activity inspiration guides for the public, schools, employers and other key players in the region,\u201d adds Mariline Lamy-Poirier. All these guides are available on the Vivre en Gasp\u00e9sie website, offering a comprehensive selection of activity ideas tailored to different target audiences.<\/p>\r\n And once again this year, we’re offering our youngest fans a drawing in the form of a game mat, designed by a local artist. This drawing is available free of charge on our website, in French and English versions. Older Gaspesians can try a quiz posted online entitled Do you know your Gasp\u00e9sie?<\/em> to test their knowledge of the region.<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n GASP\u00c9SIE Collection: Show your Gaspesian colours<\/strong><\/p>\r\n A few weeks ago, Vivre en Gasp\u00e9sie launched a new edition of its collection of clothing and accessories in the region’s colours, with the aim of encouraging people to feel at home in Gasp\u00e9sie. \u201cWhat’s new in this year’s GASP\u00c9SIE collection are phone cases featuring a number of unique Gaspesian landscapes, designed in Quebec by a Quebec company,\u201d says Mariline Lamy-Poirier.<\/p>\r\n The GASP\u00c9SIE collection is the result of a collaboration between Vivre en Gasp\u00e9sie, graphic designer Marilou Levasseur and Gaspesian company Concept K. The GASP\u00c9SIE collection is available as a limited edition until 28 June only.<\/p>\r\n \r\n Join the big blue wave<\/strong><\/p>\r\n As is the tradition, people are again being encouraged to join in a collective blue wave on social networks. \u201cEvery time Gaspesian Day rolls around, we’re thrilled to see so many people wearing blue. It’s always a pleasure to see this wave of blue all around the region and on social networks,\u201d says Danik O’Connor, Vivre en Gasp\u00e9sie strategy general manager.<\/p>\r\n \r\n Happy Hours throughout the region<\/strong><\/p>\r\n Traditional Happy Hours will be held all around the region again this year on June 6, giving everyone the chance to get together and celebrate Gaspesian Day. These not-to-be-missed events are organised by Place aux jeunes and Services d’accueil des nouveaux arrivants in the region, as well as by our partners in the English-speaking communities.<\/p>\r\n For this 18th edition, the event aims to bring the whole population together and celebrate our love for the region.
